At 16:50 on the afternoon of August 5th, in the women’s singles final of the Paris Olympic Badminton Tournament, Chinese player He Bingjiao faced off against South Korea’s An Se-young.
The first game began with He Bingjiao in good form, taking an early 2-point lead. The two players then entered a phase of alternating points. After several rallies, An Se-young gradually found her rhythm and leveled the score. He Bingjiao also scored a morale-boosting point after a thrilling multi-shot exchange, and the match was closely contested. An Se-young took a 11-9 lead into the mid-game break. Upon resuming, An Se-young continued to score and maintained a 2-3 point lead. As the game progressed, An Se-young’s advantage grew, and she ultimately secured the first game victory with a score of 21-13.
In the second game, both players started by trading points, reaching a 2-2 tie. During a multi-shot rally, An Se-young returned one of He Bingjiao’s smashes and then scored with a smash of her own, followed by several consecutive points to take a 5-2 lead. He Bingjiao quickly regained her composure and tied the score at 5-5. However, An Se-young launched a more aggressive assault and gradually widened the gap to 11-7, entering the interval.

However, she failed to capitalize on the opportunity to take the lead, allowing An Se-young to regain control and extend her lead to 16-11. This resulted in a 0-2 defeat overall, leaving He Bingjiao with the silver medal.
