BBC: Allardyce Emerges as Top Contender for Wales Manager Role

On June 21st, the Welsh Football Association officially announced the departure of their head coach Page. Subsequently, the Scottish newspaper The Daily Record reported that Sam Allardyce has become the leading candidate for the vacant position of the Red Dragons’ manager.

Allardyce’s last stint with a national team was in 2016 when he managed England for just one match before resigning amid a scandal over allegations of corruption exposed by an undercover journalist.

Big Sam’s most recent job was as Leeds United’s manager at the end of the 22/23 season. However, he could only manage a winless record of one draw and three losses in four matches, failing to secure the club’s Premier League status.
