Blogger: CFA Rejects Wuhan Three Towns Players' Bonus Claims, Seven Players' Bonuses Exceed Millions

On November 1, blogger CSL Observer stated on social media that the bonus claims of seven players from Wuhan Three Towns were not supported by the Chinese Football Association (CFA) Arbitration Court. This ruling is expected to have a significant impact on future cases.

CSL Observer wrote, “The wage arrears arbitration case involving seven players from Wuhan Three Towns was officially announced by the CFA Arbitration Court yesterday. Despite the players submitting recordings and witness statements about the club’s bonus policies as required by the CFA, the CFA did not support the players’ claims for bonuses. This means that the main part of the unpaid amounts for the Wuhan players will likely not be recovered. The bonus claims for the seven involved players all exceed seven figures.”

“If the players wish to continue their pursuit of justice, they have only two options: one is to appeal to the Sports Arbitration Court, or directly file a lawsuit in a local court. However, the likelihood of success through these two avenues is uncertain. This ruling by the CFA may have far-reaching implications, meaning that in the future, clubs can promise win bonuses, championship bonuses, or relegation survival bonuses, but if they don’t pay out, the players will have nowhere to turn for redress.”
