Today, Manchester United officially announced the dismissal of their head coach, Erik ten Hag. According to Bola Report, Sporting CP’s head coach Rúben Amorim is set to become the new Manchester United manager. However, contrary to public speculation, Amorin’s buyout clause is not as high as 20 million euros.
The report states that immediately after Ten Hag’s dismissal, Manchester United began negotiations with Sporting CP. The Red Devils are willing to pay the buyout clause to secure Amorim’s immediate departure from his current club. They are offering him a three-year contract with an annual salary of 7-8 million euros. The exact amount of the buyout clause, however, differs from public speculation.
Previous reports suggested that Amorim’s buyout clause was as high as 20 million euros. However, Bola Report indicates that the actual amount is significantly lower, requiring only 10 million euros to complete the buyout. Manchester United is currently in talks with Sporting CP regarding the details, and the final amount has not been disclosed.
If Amorim leaves Sporting CP, João Ferreira, the coach of Sporting CP’s B team, is expected to take over as the new head coach.
