According to The Times, Manchester United has reached an agreement on personal terms with Everton defender Bransworth but is unwilling to meet the Toffees’ £70 million asking price.
The report states that United has finalized contract details with Bransworth’s agent, including a weekly wage in the region of £150,000 to £160,000.
However, the main stumbling block for the transfer remains the fee. It was previously reported that Manchester United’s initial summer transfer budget is relatively low, and without offloading players to recoup funds, they are unable to match Everton’s £70 million valuation.
The duration of Everton’s firm stance is uncertain. If a new buyer fails to acquire the club, Everton may be forced to sell players to avoid further punishment from the Premier League.
