Daily Mail exclusive news reports that, as part of the club’s latest cost-cutting measures, Manchester United staff members are being forced to eat in the toilets.
Since taking over the football operations, Sir Ratcliffe has implemented several measures to save money for the club. This financial review led to a reduction of 250 jobs at the club.
Now, there has been a significant change in the meal plans for club staff. On match days, they receive a lunch box containing sandwiches, cereal bars, crisps, and soft drinks. Some employees claim that they are eating leftovers previously served to corporate customers.
Manchester United stated that the food provided to staff is the same as what is offered to fans, but it is not leftover food; instead, it is specially prepared for the staff. The club added that after the review, it was found that much of the food in the lunch boxes was often left uneaten and wasted.
Some workers even claim that they are now forced to eat in the toilets. “They set up a dining table next to four toilet stalls. When you come out of the stall, you find someone sitting right in front of you eating.” Manchester United responded by saying that the area is a separate room with an attached bathroom.
Other perks for senior staff, such as pre-match parties, post-match lunches, and hotel stays, have been completely canceled. Additionally, these employees and executives are no longer allowed to bring friends and family to watch Manchester United games at Wembley Stadium.
