In the third round of the English League Cup, Arsenal faces Bolton at home. Before each match, Odegaard shares updates on the team’s atmosphere through his captain’s notes.
Odegaard writes: “It has been a while since I last wrote the captain’s notes, so I would like to start by updating everyone on my injury situation. I suffered a severe ankle sprain and some ligament damage, but this is part of football, and now I am just focused on recovering as quickly as possible. I am making progress every day, feeling more positive. I am working hard, with the sole aim of returning to the pitch as soon as I can.”
“I am currently spending almost every day at the training center, working hard to get better. I must be careful not to overdo it, but at the same time, I want to ensure that I come back as strong and as fast as possible. Now, I am trying to support the team in different ways since I cannot play. This is my current situation, and I must make the best of it.”
“This is an unusual experience for me. In the past, I have been fortunate, perhaps doing something right, to avoid injuries, but this is part of football, and I must move forward. I think the way I got injured was unfortunate, but it could have been worse. The sprain was not easy, and at the time, I feared it might be serious. I have sprained my ankle before, but this time felt different. It scared me a bit, but in reality, it turned out to be less severe.”
“Like any player, the first thing I asked the medical team was how long I would be out, but it is difficult to say right now. In the early stages, it is important to rest thoroughly and ensure everything heals properly. After that comes getting stronger and regaining fitness.”
“I look forward to cheering for the team tonight. This may be an opportunity for players who need game time and some young players. However, most importantly, it is another chance to compete for another trophy, which we want to win. We aim to win every game, and this is a great opportunity for the team to show that we are strong enough and ready to fight in every competition.”
