Casely: Being the Interim Manager of England is a Proud Moment, Will Strive to Let Players Leverage Their Strengths

On August 30, interim England manager Casely held a press conference and discussed topics related to the new squad of the England team.

Casely spoke about becoming the interim manager of the England team: “This is a proud moment for me and my family. These past few weeks have been very busy, and I fully recognize the importance of this job, striving to help the team perform well in matches. I look forward to meeting with the players and want to put my stamp on the England team. I am highly motivated and can’t wait for the upcoming games.”

Casely talked about his football philosophy: “We have exciting attacking players, and if you can get them in the right positions on the field and give them the opportunity to showcase their abilities, it’s going to be very exciting. We will strive to create opportunities and hope to allow the players to fully leverage their strengths.”

Casely also mentioned his familiarity with many of the England internationals: “When I was managing the England U21 team, I worked with most of them. I want those around me to know how I work and manage the team, and the selected players are very exciting.”

Casely then spoke about the young players called up: “Gibbs-White is an outstanding attacking player, full of vitality and creativity on the pitch, which is exciting, and he has excellent attitude and efficiency. Both Gibbs-White and Angel Gomes have made significant contributions to England winning the U17 World Cup and the U21 European Championship.”

Casely continued talking about player selection: “Our players are all ready for the upcoming matches. The reason Walker was not selected is that he hasn’t played for Manchester City this season, and I prefer to pick players who have playing time at their clubs. Maguire is an excellent leader. Alexander-Arnold will be the right-back for England, and he possesses the traits of modern football.”
