Following Real Madrid’s 1-2 preseason loss to Barcelona, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois spoke about new signing Endrick.
Courtois said, “Endrick is very powerful and dynamic. Perhaps he needs to be a bit calmer. I’m not saying that he’s nervous, but it’s normal to feel some nerves when playing important games for Real Madrid. From training, you can see that he has a great ability to score goals and is very strong.”
“He’s not tall, but his legs are very strong. This reminds me of Eden Hazard, who I knew at Chelsea; his legs were also very strong. You kick him, and he stays on his feet. His shots are very powerful too; in training, I’ve seen him shoot with great force. What’s important is that I think he needs to be a bit calmer. I don’t know if he’s a little nervous, but he will only get better.”
Meanwhile, Courtois also acknowledged the progress made by Turkish talent Abdulkerim Güllel compared to last season. He added, “Güllel is a different person compared to last year. After his knee injury, he did a lot of work in the gym, and now you can see that his physical condition is completely different. He’s strong in his runs and has excellent passing. We have many good players who will compete for their positions, and this is what makes Real Madrid capable of winning any trophy.”
