DO: Chelsea have held talks with Jonathan David's agent over a potential transfer from Lille

On June 23, according to journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic, Chelsea have recently met with the agent of Lille forward Jonathan David to discuss a possible summer move.

The 24-year-old Canadian international is one of several options being considered by the Stamford Bridge outfit to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season. With David’s contract having only 12 months remaining, Lille president Olivier Letang has recently publicly backed a transfer in the current market, suggesting the striker could be available for a reasonable fee.

Since joining Lille in 2020, he has scored 84 goals in 183 appearances, placing him third on the club’s all-time scoring list. As a consistent starter, he has missed only three matches in his four seasons at the club and played a crucial role in their Ligue 1 title and Coupe de France triumph in 2021. His current market value on Transfermarkt is €50 million.
