According to a report by Bild journalist Christian Falk, as many as 68,000 Bayern Munich fans have launched a joint petition demanding the club not sell Matthijs de Ligt this summer.
Based on previous reports from multiple media outlets, 24-year-old Dutch central defender De Ligt is expected to leave Bayern this summer. Although the player himself has not expressed a desire to leave, Bayern are hoping to sell him in order to raise funds for new signings and also alleviate wage pressures.
However, many Bayern fans do not want to see such an outstanding player depart. It’s reported that recently, 68,000 fans have jointly signed a petition asking the club not to let De Ligt go.
And according to a previous report by Sky Sports Germany, De Ligt has already agreed to join Manchester United, with only an agreement between the two clubs remaining.
