According to renowned journalist Romano, Brighton is on the verge of signing midfielder Matt O’Riley from Scottish Premiership side Celtic and wing-back Kadıoğlu from Turkish Süper Lig team Fenerbahçe, with both transfers confirmed with “here we go”.
Matt O’Riley is 23 years old and holds dual nationality with Denmark and England. Standing at 189cm tall, he is a very versatile central midfielder capable of playing in multiple positions such as central midfield, defensive midfield, and even attacking midfield. Last season, O’Riley made 49 appearances for Celtic across all competitions, contributing an impressive 19 goals and 18 assists.
It is reported that Brighton’s fixed transfer fee for Matt O’Riley is £25 million, with an additional £5 million in variable bonus clauses, making this a very exciting signing.
Kadıoğlu is 24 years old and holds dual nationality with Turkey and the Netherlands. On the field, he primarily plays as a left-back or wing-back but can also fill in as a right-back or midfielder. Last season, he made 51 appearances for Fenerbahçe across all competitions, contributing 3 goals and 5 assists.
It is understood that Brighton will pay €30 million for Kadıoğlu, and upon passing his medical, the club will sign him to a five-year contract. With the completion of this transfer, Brighton’s 20-year-old left-back Balco will join Sevilla on loan.
