Eddie Howe Rejects England Manager Role: I Will Stay at Newcastle as Long as I Feel Happy and Supported

On July 20, Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United, expressed his desire to continue with the Magpies during an interview.

Following Gareth Southgate’s resignation from the England national team, speculation has been rife about who will take the helm for the Three Lions and lead them into the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Eddie Howe is among the names being considered for the role.

In an interview, Howe affirmed his commitment to Newcastle: “I am immensely proud to be the manager of Newcastle United, and everything I do is for this club. I haven’t given any thought to the England manager position. As long as I feel happy and supported, and can work in the way I want, my only wish is to stay at Newcastle. I love the club and its fans deeply, and they have played a significant role in my career.”

In the new season, Eddie Howe will continue to manage Newcastle and aim for European qualification.
