ESPN: Former Arsenal Player Arrested by Police on Suspicion of Smuggling Prohibited Goods

According to ESPN, former Arsenal player Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was arrested by the police on suspicion of smuggling prohibited goods.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was charged by the police for attempting to smuggle prohibited goods worth 600,000 pounds through a UK airport. It is reported that he was arrested at his home near Glasgow in the early hours of Wednesday.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is currently 33 years old and came through the Arsenal youth academy. He has played for multiple teams including Arsenal, Blackpool, Doncaster, Cardiff City, Ipswich, Bristol City, Queens Park Rangers, Aberdeen, and Jamshedpur. In July this year, Thomas joined Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton as a free agent and has only made one appearance for the team so far.
