FCB: Pedri and Gundogan’s performances excite Flick, intensifying Barcelona’s midfield battle for the new season

On June 22, El Mundo Deportivo reported that Pedri and Ilkay Gundogan’s impressive showings in the first two Euro 2020 group matches have delighted Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, paving the way for a transformation in the club’s midfield setup.

Pedri has demonstrated his return to peak form in just two games, against Croatia and Italy, a development that has been warmly received at Barcelona, who see him as crucial to Flick’s new tactical system.

The Blaugrana’s midfield is already well-stocked, with some players needing to be moved on to maintain balance.
