According to reports, Uruguay’s coach Marcelo Bielsa has also been handed a one-match suspension for failing to arrive on time.
Previously, Argentina’s coach Lionel Scaloni was sanctioned by CONMEBOL for not returning promptly after halftime. Bielsa has now followed suit and will miss the match against the United States in person.
Bielsa will also be absent from the day’s press events, with his duties temporarily taken over by first assistant coach, Argentine Pablo Giro.
