Foreign Media Reveals: Dead Silence in the French Team's Dressing Room After Euro Exit, Deschamps Calls for Unity

According to reports from European media outlets such as Telefoot and Spanish newspaper Marca, the French team has released a series of images and videos that shed light on the situation in the dressing room after their semi-final elimination in the Euros. The dressing room was eerily silent, with only Didier Deschamps urging the team to remain united.

The French team suffered a 1-2 defeat against Spain in the Euro semi-finals. Despite Mouani’s goal giving France the lead, it was followed by Gavi’s stunning strike and Olmo’s goal which turned the game around. France had ample time to turn the tide but failed to pose much threat to the Spanish side. The Spanish team advanced to the final and is set to face England in the championship match.

In the post-match dressing room, French players were visibly dejected, their faces twisted in anguish, like wounded beasts licking their wounds as they struggled to digest the bitter taste of defeat. European media described the dressing room as being in “absolute silence,” with everyone slumped in their seats, seemingly drained of all energy. Only coach Deschamps paced back and forth in the middle, attempting to say something to boost morale.

Deschamps spoke some words of encouragement, such as “We must stay united, we need to accept the result of the match, as I often say.” He also mentioned, “You have to be realistic, they did better.” He addressed his players, saying, “Guys, obviously we feel sad and disappointed, and that’s normal, especially considering what we’ve achieved so far. But we must accept reality; they were much better than us in ball possession. Perhaps we were slightly lacking in energy – although I’ll never criticize my players for their efforts until the end – but today’s match was undoubtedly more intense.”

Following France’s elimination, many criticized Deschamps, blaming his “conservative, ugly, and outdated football” as the root cause, labeling him the main culprit behind the star-studded and powerful French team’s failure to reach the final. However, recently, French Football Federation President Noël Le Graët, in an interview with L’Équipe, clearly stated, “Deschamps’ contract runs until 2026, his past achievements speak for themselves, and he will continue his mission.”
