Paris Olympic Games men’s synchronized 3m springboard diving, Chinese pair Long Daoyi/Wang Zongyuan in action.
The first dive saw Long Daoyi/Wang Zongyuan score a high 54.60, firmly in first place.
The second dive brought them 52.80, bringing their total to 107.40. The third dive saw their total reach 186.96, maintaining the lead with British divers at 181.62 in total.
The fourth dive saw a slight error from Long Daoyi, but Wang Zongyuan performed well; their total came to 264.66, overtaken by Mexican divers’ 264.90, placing them second temporarily.
The fifth dive had Long Daoyi/Wang Zongyuan choosing a high-difficulty inward three-and-a-half somersaults, both delivered without error, performing excellently for 85.68 points, lifting their total to 350.34. The Mexican pair closely pursued, also selecting a high-difficulty dive, reaching a total of 349.26, closely trailing the Chinese team.
The final dive had Long Daoyi/Wang Zongyuan choosing a high-difficulty dive rated 3.8, successfully completed for a high score of 95.76, their total reaching 446.1. The British pair ended with 438.15, earning bronze. The Mexican pair went all-in, choosing the most difficult dive rated 3.9, scoring 444.03, winning silver.
In the end, Long Daoyi/Wang Zongyuan narrowly triumphed, successfully claiming the championship.
