Recently, FIFA released the latest national team world rankings, with the Indonesian team rising four places to rank 129th in the world thanks to their draws against Saudi Arabia and Australia in the World Cup qualifiers.
In response, Indonesian Football Association Chairman Erick Thohir specially posted on social media to celebrate, writing: “We drew against Saudi Arabia and Australia, two teams of World Cup finals caliber, which further improved Indonesia’s world ranking. This demonstrates our strong desire to continue elevating our team.”
Thohir also stated: “But this is not enough, because our dream is to bring the Indonesian national team into the top 100 in the world.”
Prior to this, Indonesia had also completed the naturalization procedures for two new players, Elyano Reinders and Siegers, who are expected to play in the match against China in October.
