Italian Media: After Losing to Napoli, Milan's Management Expresses Conditional Trust in Fonseca

According to Italian media “Calciomercato,” following a 0-2 loss to Napoli, an emergency meeting was held within AC Milan. They subsequently informed Paulo Fonseca that while the club still believes in him, their trust is not unconditional.

After this match, two different attitudes emerged within Milan regarding the team’s future. On one side is Fonseca and his optimistic view of the team’s growth, and on the other are Zlatan Ibrahimović, Paolo Moncada, and Massimiliano Furlani. Their confidence in Fonseca has been confirmed, but it is not indefinite. They have demanded that Fonseca turn around the current unfavorable situation before the next international break.

In the first nine rounds of the league, Milan has accumulated 14 points, losing three matches, and has also suffered two defeats in the Champions League. It has been three months since Fonseca took charge, and he has been instructed by management to continue streamlining the squad, with the issue of Rafael Leão becoming a top priority. Fonseca’s start has lagged behind that of his predecessor, Stefano Pioli. He must reverse the deteriorating trend of the team as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, Maurizio Sarri, Thomas Tuchel, Massimiliano Allegri, and Dejan Tudor are all watching closely. Currently, Milan’s plan is to continue moving forward with Fonseca and aim to rise again under his leadership.
