September 20th, Australian men’s national football team head coach Graham Arnold officially resigned. Journalist Sacha Pisani posted on social media that given the current impossibility for the Football Federation Australia (FFA) to poach Muscat, it would be better to invite the FC Tokyo coach to take over the national team.
Sacha Pisani tweeted: “The next appointment is crucial for both the FFA and the Australian national team.”
“Muscat is currently very happy at the Port and the team is on track. So who else could replace Arnold?”
“If I were in charge of the FFA, I would reach out to Peter Cklamovski. If our requirement for the Australian men’s national team is to establish a style and play beautiful football, then Cklamovski must be one of the top candidates. It would be foolish not to consider him.”
The 45-year-old Cklamovski previously coached the Australian U17 team before moving to Japan where he coached Shimizu S-Pulse and Yamagata. He took over FC Tokyo in June 2023 and has been coaching there since.
