Kim Min-jae: Never Considered Leaving Bayern Munich, Looking Forward to Clash with Son Heung-min

Bayern Munich is currently in South Korea for training and will play a friendly match against Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur on the evening of August 3 at 7 PM. At the pre-match press conference, Kim Min-jae stated that he is not considering leaving Bayern Munich and expressed his anticipation for facing off against Son Heung-min, urging South Korean fans not to focus solely on him but also pay attention to other Bayern superstars.

Kim Min-jae said, “I am very excited to bring my teammates to my home country. This is my first time returning home for a preseason game, which feels very special. I am extremely looking forward to tomorrow’s match. I have been trying to show my teammates Korean culture and took them to good restaurants in Seoul, sharing everything about Korea with them. This was my way of expressing gratitude to the whole team, and everyone enjoyed it. Who enjoyed it the most? I think it was Kimmich!”

Regarding the friendly match and facing Son Heung-min, Kim Min-jae said, “I’ve only faced him during (national team) training sessions. He is a top-class player, but Tottenham has many other great players as well, so we need to be cautious. I hope we leave the pitch as victors, and I am very much looking forward to my first match against Son Heung-min!”

In Seoul, Kim Min-jae received a warm welcome from South Korean fans, and he commented, “I don’t like being in the spotlight… Fans shouldn’t just focus on me; we have a strong squad, including players like Neuer, Müller, Musiala, and more. I hope they receive more attention than I do. Thomas [Müller] is a legend, not just a Bayern legend but a German legend as well. He always tries to help his teammates and make them feel comfortable. You always want to have legends like him around.”

When asked if he considered leaving Bayern Munich this summer, Kim Min-jae said, “I never thought about it. I hope to work hard and give everything for Bayern Munich, providing support to the club!”
