Klopp: Excited to Join Red Bull in a New Role, My Passion for Football Remains Unchanged

Red Bull Group officially announced that Jürgen Klopp will take on the role of Global Football Director for Red Bull starting January 1, 2025.

Klopp said, “After nearly 25 years on the sidelines, I am incredibly excited to be involved in such a project. The role may have changed, but my passion for football and the people who shape it remains unchanged.”

“By joining Red Bull’s global team, I hope to develop, improve, and support the incredible football talent we possess. There are many ways to achieve this, from leveraging the elite knowledge and experience Red Bull has to offer, to learning from other sports and industries. Together, we can discover new possibilities. I see my role primarily as a mentor to the coaches and management of Red Bull clubs, but ultimately, I am part of this unique, innovative, and forward-thinking organization. As I said, this is very exciting for me.”

Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of Projects and Investments at Red Bull, described this as the most important appointment in Red Bull’s football history. He said, “We are extremely proud of what is undoubtedly the greatest signing in Red Bull football history. Klopp is one of the greatest and most influential figures in world football, possessing extraordinary skills and charisma. As Global Football Director for Red Bull, he will be a game-changer for us in international football and its evolving landscape.
