Lequipe: France may bench Dembele for final group stage match against Poland; Brestley, Mouani could startAccording to French media outlet Lequipe, manager Deschamps is likely to make changes to the starting lineup in the upcoming match against Poland. Dembele might be on the bench. If that happens, either Brestley, Coman, or Mouani are expected to feature as starters.

In their first two matches, France secured a 1-0 victory over Austria and then drew 0-0 with the Netherlands, amassing four points and virtually securing a spot in the knockout stages. Even if they lose to Poland, as long as the other results go their way, they will advance to the round of 16.

Though France’s qualification is not at risk, concerns persist among fans about the team’s performance. Despite a solid defense and midfield display, the attack has not been up to par.

The main criticism in the attack falls on Dembele, the Paris Saint-Germain forward. So far in the group stage, he has failed to live up to expectations. The team hopes to see more from him in terms of one-on-one prowess, attacking runs, and assisting teammates, but these have been lacking.

It is reported that France’s technical staff recommended Deschamps to bench Dembele for the match against Poland. Should he not start, either Brestley-Backaara, Coman, or Mouani might take his place. However, such a decision would undoubtedly be a blow to the player’s confidence.
