According to reporter Made Xing, the Chinese men’s national football team, preparing for the third round of the 2026 North American World Cup qualifiers in Asia, has started training in Dalian on the evening of August 23rd, becoming the first team to start training in their group and the second after the North Korean men’s team among all the 18 teams.
Although there is still hope for China to make it to the World Cup amidst the expansion, reality and the team’s own level have kept the national team decidedly low-key, a far cry from the ‘definitely qualifying’ clamor of the previous two rounds of the top 12 matches.
