Man United Veteran Evans Announces Retirement from Northern Ireland National Team, Caps Capped at 107

On August 29, Man United veteran Evans announced his retirement from the Northern Ireland national team, capping his international appearances at 107.

Evans is one of the greatest stars in Northern Ireland’s team history. He made 107 appearances for Northern Ireland, captaining the side 15 times and scoring six goals for the national team. To date, Evans has announced that he will retire from the Northern Ireland national team and no longer participate in international matches, focusing instead on playing for Manchester United.

Evans made his debut for Northern Ireland in a 3-2 win over Spain in September 2006. His last appearance for Northern Ireland was in June this year, when the team lost 1-5 to Spain. During his tenure with Northern Ireland, the only major tournament he participated in was the 2016 European Cup.

In his retirement statement, Evans said: “After careful consideration, I have decided to retire from the Northern Ireland national team after 18 years of service. In the 18 years that I represented Northern Ireland, I earned 107 caps, an honor that I am deeply proud of. Participating in the 2016 European Cup was the most significant experience of my career.”
