Maresca on Chelsea's Sale of Youth Players: Not a Club Issue, It's a League Rule Problem

On August 6, in a recent interview, Chelsea manager Maresca discussed the club’s continuous sale of youth products like Gallagher. The Italian explained that the club is compelled to sell players due to Premier League rules.

Maresca said, “This isn’t a problem for Chelsea; it’s a rule issue. Due to the rules, the club is forced to sell players.”

Maresca also touched on the team’s forward plans, stating that in terms of position, he considers Nico Jackson to be a number 9.

Maresca said, “If we need him (Jackson) as a winger for some games, then so be it… but I always consider him a striker.”

Additionally, Maresca spoke about the team’s defensive midfielder Moises Caicedo: “I love Moises. I know how he plays. Before the match against Manchester City, he only had one training session. He played 45 minutes in the game against Manchester City. We hope to slightly improve his physical condition. We need him available for the team’s first game.”
