After the first 50 meters, Pan Zhanle was temporarily in third place, trailing the leader by 0.5 seconds. At the 100-meter mark, Pan Zhanle dropped to fourth place, with the gap widening to over 1 second. At the 150-meter mark, Pan Zhanle remained in fourth place, with the gap narrowing slightly to 0.99 seconds. By the 200-meter mark, the gap between Pan Zhanle and the leader had further narrowed to 0.6 seconds. At the 250-meter mark, Pan Zhanle’s position remained unchanged, trailing by 0.52 seconds. He continued to hold the fourth position thereafter. In the final 50 meters, Pan Zhanle made a strong surge, moving from fourth to first place and winning the gold medal with a time of 3 minutes and 36.43 seconds.
