MLS First Half: Patzko Scores into an Empty Net as LA Galaxy Lead at Home Over Portland Timbers

Match Report At 10:45 AM on July 21st, the 27th round of the MLS saw LA Galaxy host Portland Timbers at home.

Just three minutes into the match, LA Galaxy executed a threatening through-ball attack, but the Timbers’ goalkeeper reacted quickly and came out to thwart the attempt.

In the 9th minute, LA Galaxy continued to press, making a fine one-two play down the left flank. Fagundez received the ball and played a precise through ball to find the advancing Maya Yoshida, who, with a clear sight of goal, somehow managed to hit the ball directly at the goalkeeper.

For a while after that, both teams were locked in a stalemate, with neither side able to create many clear-cut chances.
