According to the French newspaper Le Parisien, 28-year-old French football star Moussa Dembélé’s home in the Val-d’Oise department of northern France was broken into by burglars. Some luxury items were stolen, and a car was taken but has since been recovered.
The report highlights that football players and their families are once again ideal targets for thieves. Another French football star has fallen victim to theft. On the evening of August 14th, local time, Moussa Dembélé, while recuperating from an injury, experienced a break-in at his residence.
Several burglars broke into Dembélé’s home in Andilly, Val-d’Oise, ransacking the place and taking away a large quantity of luxury items and a high-end car. The financial losses caused by the incident have not yet been confirmed.
The 28-year-old Dembélé, who previously played for Fulham, Celtic, Lyon, and Atlético Madrid, is currently playing for Dammam Khaleej in the Saudi league. He had been recuperating at his home in France due to an injury but has now fully recovered and will return to his club. At the time of the incident, Dembélé was not at home; it was a relative who noticed the burglary and called the police.
The police investigated the scene hoping to find more clues. As of now, Dembélé’s stolen car has been recovered; the burglars abandoned it in an underground parking lot in Paris. The vehicle was equipped with a tracking system. Police confirmed that as of Saturday, no one has been arrested in connection with this burglary.
Recently, French football stars have frequently been victims of criminal incidents. Less than two months ago, the father of French international Kingsley Coman was also burglarized, with burglars taking a safe containing luxury watches, causing a property loss of 500,000 euros. A few days ago, the home of Adrien Rabiot’s mother in Yvelines was also broken into, with property losses exceeding 10,000 euros.
