At 03:00 on June 25th, in the third group match of the European Cup, Albania faces Spain.
In the starting lineup announced by Spain prior to the game, the veteran defender Navas, turning 39 years old (38 years and 7 months), will make his long-awaited appearance and take on the captaincy role.
This is Navas’ return to the European Cup after a 12-year absence, having represented Spain in the tournament back in 2012, where they ultimately emerged champions. As he approaches his 39th birthday, he sets a new record for the oldest player in the Spanish national team’s history to participate in a major international event.
Estimates suggest that around 12,000 passionate Spanish fans will be in attendance for tonight’s match.
