At a press conference at St. George’s Park on Tuesday afternoon, Madueke spoke about Palmer, stating that his career has no limits.
Madueke and Palmer have been teammates since they played together for England U15; last summer, they reunited at Chelsea and developed an excellent understanding.
Madueke said, “I think Palmer’s potential is limitless. I don’t know if he has a ceiling, or where that ceiling might be. But I feel he is in great form right now, and I just hope he can maintain it.”
“Palmer is a very unique player. Even in the most pressured situations, he doesn’t feel the pressure, and I admire him for that. He is a great player, and I believe he will contribute to England as much as he does to Chelsea.”
When asked how Palmer manages to stay calm under pressure, Madueke responded, “That’s just his nature. He is always relaxed. He is the same on and off the pitch. That’s who he is; some people are just born that way. He is very unique in this aspect, able to enjoy the game and perform freely on the field, and that’s him.”
“We have a great understanding. First, we have been playing together for a long time, ever since our days with England U15, and I think that’s one of the reasons. We are also good friends off the pitch; we often go out for meals together. He has precise passing, and I am very energetic, so it fits perfectly.”
