On July 12th, Dr. Helmut Marko, the technical director of Formula 1’s Red Bull Racing team, recently confirmed that the contract of Mexican driver Sergio Perez includes an exit clause, and the driver will be reassessed during the summer break.
Last month, the Red Bull Racing team officially announced that they had renewed their contract with driver Sergio Perez. However, in the following races, the 34-year-old Mexican did not deliver the expected performance; he failed to score points in three out of the last five Grand Prix events, finishing as low as 17th at the British Grand Prix.
Dr. Marko stated, “Our current situation is that our second driver has not met the expectations we had for him, so we will assess him during the summer break. His contract includes an exit clause, which is performance-related.”
