According to RMC, Ligue 1 powerhouse Lille is considering signing free agent Martial.
Lille has been hoping to strengthen their attack this summer but failed to complete any transfers before the window closed. Therefore, they are now looking at players currently available on the free market, and Martial has made it onto their shortlist.
Following the end of last season, Martial’s contract with Manchester United expired, and he has been without a club since. It now looks like he could be set for a return to Ligue 1. The report indicates that for Martial, money is not his primary consideration; instead, he values the competitive aspect more. Given that Lille can participate in the Champions League this season, this is very appealing to him.
Additionally, current Lille coach Genesio can be considered Martial’s mentor, having worked together during their time at Lyon, which is also a factor influencing Martial’s decision.
