On June 13, according to RMC Sport, an unknown virus might be spreading within the French national team’s training facility, with players and staff reporting feelings of discomfort.
The French team arrived in Germany on Wednesday and immediately embarked on their preparations, conducting media interviews followed by an afternoon of acclimatization and their first training session. On Thursday afternoon, the team held an open training session in Paderborn, attended by 4,000 fans.
However, RMC Sport reports that starting from Wednesday evening, some players and personnel experienced discomfort with flu-like symptoms, while others woke up on Thursday morning with cramps and headaches, raising concerns about a possible virus outbreak within the camp.
RMC adds that although the current situation is considered not overly serious, it is being closely monitored in the lead-up to the European Championship. France’s opening group match will be against Austria on June 18.
