Rogers Revisits Celtic’s Defeat to Dortmund: “I’m Not an Idiot, I Listen to Advice”

In the second round of this week’s Champions League, Celtic suffered a humiliating 1-7 defeat away to Borussia Dortmund. Ahead of this weekend’s Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Ross County, team manager Rogers once again addressed the loss.

Rogers Revisits Celtic's Defeat to Dortmund: "I'm Not an Idiot, I Listen to Advice"

Rogers stated, “I don’t feel anything about the criticism from outside. Honestly, I don’t care about their opinions, that’s the truth. I can’t deliberately tell the players to park the bus and play defensively; it’s not our style. Should we retreat and only have 15% possession, then lose 0-3 or 0-4?

I trust the players, and I know how hard they work. The result of the game the other day was painful, but we will learn from it and come back stronger. I’m not an idiot; I’m a very pragmatic person and I listen to advice that is good for the team. We play to win, but I also understand that we must adapt to some matches and opponents.”
