On September 20, the radical supporters’ group of Roma Club will boycott the debut of new manager Yurich in protest against the club’s dismissal of De Rossi.
The start of this season for Roma has been poor, with only 3 points from 3 draws and 1 loss in the first four rounds, placing them 16th in the league. This led to De Rossi being sacked. Prior to the season, Roma Club had just renewed their contract with De Rossi until June 2027. Soon after, Yurich was appointed as the new head coach of Roma, having previously served as head coach at Genoa and Turin. Next, Roma will face Udinese at home, which will also be Yurich’s debut as the new manager.
The radical supporters’ group of Roma stated that they will boycott Yurich’s debut: “It’s time for the club to hear our voices. The South Stand will invite fans from various football associations to join in the protest together, and no one will watch or support the team from the South Stand for the first 30 minutes of the game.”
At that time, fans in the South Stand will choose to leave during the first half-hour of the game to protest against the club by leaving seats empty. Whether other groups will join in besides the South Stand supporters’ organization is still unknown as of now.
