On July 24, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Bundesliga side RB Leipzig is now very confident in securing the services of Xavi Simons once again on loan.
Dutch international Xavi Simons has reportedly been a target for top clubs such as Bayern Munich and Manchester United this summer. While the competition for his signature continues, Romano stated that Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff is pushing hard to finalize negotiations with Simons and is confident in persuading the player to join them again.
Furthermore, Simons’ parent club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), does not wish to sell the player permanently and is only interested in another loan move. Under these circumstances, Leipzig, also looking to secure a loan deal, may have an advantage over Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
Last season, Xavi Simons played for Leipzig on loan and delivered impressive numbers with 10 goals and 13 assists.
