Borussia Dortmund legend Rosicky expressed in an interview with Bild that he has great confidence in his former teammate and current Dortmund head coach Şahin.
Since taking charge of the team, Şahin’s performance has been inconsistent, including a 1-5 defeat to Stuttgart which drew widespread criticism. However, they recently made a comeback with a 4-2 win against Bochum. Rosicky commented, “I did not expect him to become a coach later on, and surprisingly, from the very beginning, he showed very smart decision-making, not just in his playing style, but also in his quick wit even when he was young. He continued to develop and is now a master strategist.”
Rosicky also wished his old club success under Şahin’s leadership, “When he went to Turkey as a coach and became Terzić’s assistant in early 2024, it was clear that he was destined to take over Dortmund. I pray for him and Zorc that they achieve their goals this season. Dortmund has the ability to win the championship, and I extend my best wishes to everyone at Dortmund.”
