As Brazil prepares for the Copa América, former manager Scolari has commented on the Brazilian duo at Real Madrid, Rodrygo and Vinícius Júnior. According to Scolari, Rodrygo doesn’t need to depart from Madrid, while Vinícius is a future Ballon d’Or winner.
In Brazil’s recent friendlies against Mexico and the United States, both Vinícius and Rodrygo showcased their talents, and throughout the previous season, they emerged as key players for Real Madrid. Speaking about Rodrygo, Scolari believes there’s no reason for him to leave the Spanish capital, stating, “I don’t think he needs to leave Madrid, he just needs to adapt in certain game situations. He’s an extraordinary player, and together with Vinícius, they will help Real Madrid become the best and strongest team in the world.”
Addressing the competition Rodrygo may face in the upcoming season, Scolari has faith in Ancelotti’s management, saying, “Ancelotti is a pragmatic coach. With Rodrygo, Vinícius, Mbappé, and other great players, he will surely make the right decisions and find the perfect balance to combine these diverse talents and maximize their competitiveness.”
Regarding Vinícius, Scolari asserts that he merits football’s highest individual honor, the Ballon d’Or, “He is the best player in the world and truly deserves it. If it were up to me, I would choose Vinícius.”
