The introduction of semi-automatic offside technology in the Premier League was approved by all clubs back in April, but it appears that its official launch is not happening as quickly as anticipated.
Kaveh Solhekol, Sky Sports’ chief reporter, said, “A very interesting topic discussed at the Premier League meeting is about the semi-automatic offside technology (SAOT).”
“There’s been a lot of talk. Why don’t we have the semi-automatic offside technology yet, given the previous promise that it would be rolled out in October and November?”
“Well, I must tell you that the introduction of SAOT has been delayed. It is unlikely to be introduced until the Premier League is entirely satisfied with it.”
“I think, for now, it will be postponed until winter. We originally expected it to be launched in October or November. However, looking at the current situation, I believe we may have to wait until December, January, or even February next year for its launch.”
