The UEFA European Championship is about to kick off, and Italy is set to face Albania in their opening match. Ahead of the game, Italy’s head coach, Luciano Spalletti, addressed the media in a press conference.
Commenting on the match, Spalletti said, “Our spirits are high right now. The opponent knows us well and they are a strong team, so it will be a challenging encounter.”
Referring to his expectations for the tournament, he added, “Sometimes the results don’t go as you expect, just like the unpredictable path of a ball. Some matches have a way of going against your hopes. I believe our team will show great form, not only the eleven on the pitch but also our 60 million fans behind us.”
There were previous reports that Spalletti had imposed a gaming ban on the players. He clarified, “I need to clarify this issue. I asked them to sleep at night and get proper rest, that’s all. We’ve even set up a games room with two PlayStations, and I’ve played there too. What I said was no playing until 3-4 am, not a complete ban.”
