Spanish Media: Barca is Hastening to Activate Two Major Levers in Hopes of Registering Players and Completing Transfers

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Laporta is preparing to make two significant moves at the end of the transfer window. Barcelona is stepping up its efforts in the final days before the transfer window closes, aiming to register Olmo and bring in a second high-profile player. The move of Gündogan to Manchester City has saved the club a significant annual salary expense of up to 15 million euros, freeing up space under the wage cap, but this is still not enough.

The club is working hard to push through two “leverage” plans to secure additional funds to meet fair play regulations. The first involves collecting the remaining 20 million euros from the second tranche of the sale of a stake in Barca Studios. Previously, the club announced an agreement with Aramark, who paid the initial installment of 40 million euros, but there is still 20 million euros outstanding.

Bridgeburg Investment Company is ready to pay this amount. The club is preparing all necessary documents to submit for LaLiga’s approval and lift the financial restrictions imposed due to these 20 million euros, which are currently severely hampering the club’s ability to bring in and register new players. Barcelona is confident that it can obtain approval before the transfer window closes.

The second plan is more complex and involves a new collaboration between Barcelona and Nike. The club is working around the clock to finalize all procedures and gain LaLiga’s approval before the transfer window closes. If successful, this would be a significant breakthrough as this agreement would bring approximately 40 million euros in ‘fair play’ funds and restore the club to a 1:1 financial rule. However, the club is not as optimistic about this agreement compared to the previous one.

If both sponsorship agreements can be finalized, the club could make important signings such as Nico Williams and Chiesa. But first, these agreements must be completed and receive LaLiga’s approval.

In addition to the club’s negotiations on sponsorships, Deco is also working on selling some players to secure ‘fair play’ funds. Currently, Lenglet is one of the most likely players to leave. This French player has a high salary, but no departure agreement has been reached yet.
