According to AS newspaper, Barcelona has set a schedule for returning to play in the renovated Nou Camp. The first match back is most likely to be against Valencia at the end of January or against Alaves at the beginning of February in 2025.
The Barcelona Football Club recently held a special board meeting, after which an official statement was released stating: “FC Barcelona announces that the men’s first football team will continue to play matches at the Montjuïc Stadium for the first half of this season, with the goal of returning to the reduced-capacity Nou Camp in the second half of the season. Matches at the Olympic Stadium will continue until mid-January 2025. Therefore, the expected return match could be the La Liga matchday 21 game between Barcelona and Valencia on January 25th or 26th. If the Nou Camp cannot be opened for that match, the Montjuïc Stadium will host the final Champions League group stage match against Atalanta on January 29th. In this case, the actual return time may be the La Liga matchday 22 game against Alaves on February 1st or 2nd.”
The statement also pointed out that due to the renovation work at the Nou Camp, the regular income generated from operations at the Montjuïc stadium is expected to be lower than usual. However, with the team’s return to the Nou Camp, it is anticipated that the daily income from the stadium will gradually increase.
