Spanish Media: La Liga Dissatisfied with Google's Tolerance of Piracy Damaging Interests; Argentine Court Orders Ban on Related AppsAccording to Spanish media outlet Marca, La Liga is requesting relevant authorities to order Google to disable Magis TV to prevent the piracy of La Liga broadcasting rights. Recently, relevant departments in Argentina have also issued a ban, requiring Google to prevent the installation of this application on its Android system.

Previously, La Liga President Tebas stated that Apple and Google’s tolerance of piracy has harmed La Liga’s interests. “Technically speaking, they are fully capable of eliminating piracy, but they do not want to do so due to their own interests, especially Google, which could eliminate 80% of piracy if it wanted to.”

Recently, relevant departments in Argentina ruled to block domains related to Magis TV. It is worth noting that Magis TV is an illegal internet TV service provider, and the relevant departments in Argentina require Google to prevent the use of this application on its Android system.

After the ruling took effect, La Liga expressed support. La Liga President Tebas stated that this ruling sets a global example for combating audiovisual content piracy and fraud.

Over the past six months, Magis TV has received over 55 million visits in Latin America and the Caribbean region. Without broadcasting rights, Magis TV illegally broadcasts matches via the internet, causing significant harm to La Liga. Additionally, installing this software on communication devices can make users victims of virus and malware downloads.
