According to Spanish outlet Relevo, Spanish wingers Williams and Yamar were absent from the team’s training session today, with Laporte and Ruiz also unaccounted for.
Since the start of the Euros, Williams from Athletic Bilbao and Yamar from Barcelona have emerged as Spain’s two most influential figures. The duo has almost torn through every opponent’s defense. Spain is counting on these players to bring their destructive force into the upcoming quarterfinal against Germany.
However, neither Williams nor Yamar was present at today’s training. Later reports from Relevo revealed that the head coach, considering their youth and the rigors of a long season, decided not to risk their physical condition and granted them permission to skip today’s training session. Instead, they were undertaking recovery work in the gym.
Additionally, with less than three days until the crucial quarterfinal match, neither Laporte nor Ruiz were seen at today’s training. The media source later assured that both are fit and fans should not be concerned. The absence of these four players is a deliberate decision by the head coach.
