Following a report by Borussia Dortmund correspondent Patrick Berger on Sky Germany that Stuttgart were interested in Bremen forward Niclas Füllkrug, Stuttgart-based Bild journalist Felix Arnold has dismissed the possibility of this transfer.
According to Arnold, Stuttgart did indeed make contact to explore the feasibility of a move for Füllkrug, but it is highly unlikely that the deal will materialize, as it won’t be a formal topic for the club. The striker’s annual salary of around 7 million euros is beyond Stuttgart’s means.
Füllkrug himself is not considering leaving Dortmund, even with the arrival of Guillermo Giacoman. He is prepared to compete for a starting spot in the team’s forward line alongside Giacoman.
The local Dortmund newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten, on the other hand, suggests that Dortmund are considering selling striker Sébastien Haller, not Füllkrug.
