On July 24, Suwon FC announced that Lee Seung-yu has officially left the team to join Jeonbuk Hyundai, and the club will now boldly rebuild with young players.
Lee Seung-yu trained at La Masia from 2011 to 2017 and played for teams such as Verona, Sint-Truiden, and Portimonense before joining Suwon FC on a free transfer in January 2022.
Since joining, Lee Seung-yu made a total of 89 appearances for Suwon FC, scoring 34 goals and providing 8 assists.
Suwon FC stated that the decision to end the partnership was reached amicably by both parties. Lee Seung-yu wishes to take on new challenges in unfamiliar surroundings, and the club wishes him all the best for his future.
After 24 rounds of the K League this season, Suwon FC is temporarily in 5th place with 41 points, trailing league leaders Pohang Steelers by 3 points.
