Ten Hag: Hoping for Squad Adjustments Before the Window Closes, United's Management Team is Ambitious

Following their 0-3 loss to Liverpool in their final match of the US tour, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag addressed the club’s summer transfer activity.

With new signing Lenny Jolo, who cost £52 million, set to miss three months due to a foot injury, and forward Anthony Hojlund out until mid-September with a hamstring issue, United’s transfer business ahead of their first Premier League game of the season will receive increased attention.

The club has been attempting to reach an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign Dutch international Matthijs de Ligt, while also pursuing Moroccan full-back Noussair Mazraoui. This move could pave the way for Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s transfer to West Ham United.

Ten Hag confirmed that he is aware that football director Dan Ashworth, technical director Jason Wilcox, and new CEO Omar Berrada are working alongside new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS group to secure deals.

Ten Hag said: “It’s always hard to say whether there will be adjustments to the squad in the next two weeks, but we hope so. We’re keeping an eye on the transfer market, and this new leadership team is very eager to do business and get deals done; they’re working hard. But we have to wait and see if the timing is right and if the opportunities are there.”
