On September 21, Paris Saint-Germain will appeal the French League’s legal committee’s approval from last week to pay Mbappe the 55 million euros in overdue wages, even though they believe the chances of this measure succeeding are slim.
In the team’s latest statement, it is noted that they are refusing to pay the current Real Madrid player his wages because he failed to fulfill all his commitments. The player is demanding payment for April, May, and June 2024 wages as well as a portion of the signing bonus, hinting at an agreement where Mbappe agreed to forego part of his salary.
The Paris Saint-Germain statement added, “The original contract was legally modified and respected by both the player and the club until the player decided to leave and failed to honor the commitment to leave the club.”
According to Le Parisien, PSG is willing to continue debating with Mbappe in court. Mbappe’s defense lawyers argue that the club’s wage violations are evident and have submitted the case to UEFA in addition to the French League.
